Highwoods Properties Hosts Electronics Recycling Event at Tampa Bay Park
Tampa, Florida - Highwoods Properties, Inc., the largest owner and operator of suburban office properties in the Southeast and 2009 NAIOP Developer of the Year, partnered with Florida E-Waste Recycling, a Tampa-based electronics recycling company, to hold a computer and electronics recycling event for the customers of Highwoods’ Tampa Bay Park. The all-day event took place Thursday, July 29 and Friday, July 30. Over 7 tons of electronics were collected. A portion of the proceeds from the recycling event was donated to the Humane Society Of Tampa Bay.

A Tampa startup called Florida E-Waste Recycling has deployed 35 free collection points for discarded electronics around the bay area mostly in mini-warehouse self-storage facilities. The company, which takes apart old computers, cell phones, printers, pagers, stereos, cameras, copiers and PDAs at a Tarpon Springs facility, sees a profit selling the precious metals and parts. They don't accept TV sets. Its GreenSite® collection boxes are found now in 10 bay area Budget Self Storage centers and 13 of the 40 Florida mini-warehouses owned by Accountable Management of Lutz, which operates warehouses under several names as Florida's Storage Solution. Wyndham Capital, a Tampa private equity firm backing the recycling venture, is working to put GreenSites in large office buildings. "Other businesses are starting to offer recycling, but usually they're stores and may charge a fee," said Tom Rossi, Managing Partner. "We're free and closer to where the people and equipment are."

Highwoods Properties Hosts Electronics Recycling Event at Tampa Bay Park
Tampa, Florida - Highwoods Properties, Inc., the largest owner and operator of suburban office properties in the Southeast and 2009 NAIOP Developer of the Year, partnered with Florida E-Waste Recycling, a Tampa-based electronics recycling company, to hold a computer and electronics recycling event for the customers of Highwoods’ Tampa Bay Park. The all-day event took place Thursday, July 29 and Friday, July 30. Over 7 tons of electronics were collected. A portion of the proceeds from the recycling event was donated to the Humane Society Of Tampa Bay.

A Tampa startup called Florida E-Waste Recycling has deployed 35 free collection points for discarded electronics around the bay area mostly in mini-warehouse self-storage facilities. The company, which takes apart old computers, cell phones, printers, pagers, stereos, cameras, copiers and PDAs at a Tarpon Springs facility, sees a profit selling the precious metals and parts. They don't accept TV sets. Its GreenSite® collection boxes are found now in 10 bay area Budget Self Storage centers and 13 of the 40 Florida mini-warehouses owned by Accountable Management of Lutz, which operates warehouses under several names as Florida's Storage Solution. Wyndham Capital, a Tampa private equity firm backing the recycling venture, is working to put GreenSites in large office buildings. "Other businesses are starting to offer recycling, but usually they're stores and may charge a fee," said Tom Rossi, Managing Partner. "We're free and closer to where the people and equipment are."
Florida's Storage Solution Joins GreenSite®

GreenSite® Drop Off Program Launched
Tampa, Florida - Florida E-Waste Recycling has launched a cooperative venture between the company and electronics service businesses, storage facilities and non-profit organizations to provide convenient drop off locations for the general public. The company plans to establish over 100 GreenSite® locations in Central Florida in the next few months. Donations will be made to local charities for each computer received by the recycling program.
Florida E-Waste Recycling Opens New Division
