Second Image Thrift Store To Become A GreenSite® Electronics Recycling Location
TAMPA, Florida - (September 23, 2010) – Second Image Thrift Store, a subsidiary of Family Resources Foundation, Inc., is now accepting obsolete computers and electronics equipment for recycling at their retail location at 9103 US Hwy. 19 North, Pinellas Park, FL. Items can be dropped off for free with no charge to businesses or the general public. Their sister organization, Community Aid Collections (the yellow bag people), will also pick up electronics for free throughout the local area. Bay Area Habitat For Humanity ReStores Offer Free Electronics Recycling Sites

Highwoods Properties Hosts Electronics Recycling Event At Feather Sound II Office Building

Highwoods Properties Hosts Electronics Recycling Event at Tampa Bay Park

A Tampa startup called Florida E-Waste Recycling has deployed 35 free collection points for discarded electronics around the bay area mostly in mini-warehouse self-storage facilities. The company, which takes apart old computers, cell phones, printers, pagers, stereos, cameras, copiers and PDAs at a Tarpon Springs facility, sees a profit selling the precious metals and parts. They don't accept TV sets. Its GreenSite® collection boxes are found now in 10 bay area Budget Self Storage centers and 13 of the 40 Florida mini-warehouses owned by Accountable Management of Lutz, which operates warehouses under several names as Florida's Storage Solution. Wyndham Capital, a Tampa private equity firm backing the recycling venture, is working to put GreenSites in large office buildings. "Other businesses are starting to offer recycling, but usually they're stores and may charge a fee," said Tom Rossi, Managing Partner. "We're free and closer to where the people and equipment are."
