We can provide two types of secure data destruction: Laws Pertaining to Information Destruction
1) DOD 5220.22.M compliant data wiping using a multi-pass overwriting method at no charge.
2) Physical hard drive destruction with a Certificate of Destruction provided for $10 per drive. A volume discount may apply.
Why is physical hard drive destruction the preferred process? Our total destruction process takes approximately 15 seconds per drive. Our specialized equipment destroys the hard drive chassis, which in turn destroys the internal platter and all retrievable files and folders. A steady crushing motion focuses 20,000 lbs of force that punches through the chassis, guaranteeing the internal hard drive will never spin again. The platter cannot be reinstalled in a new chassis and the information can never be retrieved.
Examples of destroyed hard drives:

HIPAA
Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act.
The HIPAA law came into effect in
1996. Any organization that has
medical information must comply.
Doctors, hospitals, health insurance
applications and claim records must
all be destroyed in order to prevent
unauthorized access.
FACTA
Fair Credit Reporting Act
FACTA came into law in 2003. One
of the provisions requires that any
information taken from a credit report
be destroyed. This law requires
organizations and individuals to take
reasonable steps to destroy
information.
Gramm/Leach/Bliley
This law is the same as HIPAA only it
refers to financial institutions. They
must have written policies in place to
protect the personal financial
information of their customers.
Some companies that are covered
under this law are check cashing
businesses, payday lenders,
mortgage brokers, professional tax
preparers and courier services.
